Spiritual legacy

Kirk Franklin – Spiritual

I am to disciple and send others equipped in God’s Word and not according to their talents or abilities. God’s Word is the primary thing to be preached from generation to generation. It is our spiritual legacy.

And Baruch the son of Neriah did all that Jeremiah the prophet ordered him about reading from the scroll the words of the Lord in the Lord‘s house. – Jeremiah 36:8  ESV

Joy

Kirk Franklin – Joy (Feat. Dorothy Anderson)

Joy has been for me a sense of pervasive well-being my whole life. For the past little while I had lost that joy for the first time because I felt that God was trying to get a message through to me and somehow I could not hear Him. Then I read this verse I knew that all along I made the choice to be a person of joy, it was not because of what I had done, but who Jesus was. Somehow I carried the yoke and when I gave it to Jesus, He gave me His joy in return. Quite freeing.

We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and yet not killed; as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything. – 2 Corinthians 6:8-10  ESV

Joy is consistent with terrible circumstances. It is consistent with sorrow because it is the realization of what is really going on in the world is under God – and that is joy. In fact, it is a joyous God who fills the universe.
